Between 2001 and 2007, DVDs were released, first in Asia (Hong Kong), then in France, Japan, America and finally in Italy.
In this subsection there are the screen shoots of menus and the covers. You can find other images in VCDs subsection.

ASIA (HONG KONG)
In Asia, all the episodes are in Japanese, with optional English or Chinese subtitles; sometimes, there are previews of the next episodes or trailers. There are two editions, both by Video Animation, that are different only in the placement of the dvds. There are also the dvds about Hades and Overture. Prices are very low. These dvds are exported to all the world because they can be read in every dvd reader (all zones).

	THE HADES CHAPTER INFERNO & ELYSION 3 DVD, with 2 episodes each. 1 DVD with 6 episodes of the second part. 1 DVD with 6 episoded of Elysion

JAPAN
After Hong Kong, from 2003 in Japan there are 5 boxes about the old series, 1 box about movies, dvds about Hades and Overture. There are papers inside and new cover images, drawn by Shingo Araki, but there aren't specials.
Dvds are zone 2, the same of Europe. They are made by Bandai Visual.
The video quality is eccellent, but, according to me, prices are too high.

	THE HADES YOMIGAERISHI GOLD 2 DVD, with the best cuttings from chapter Sanctuary.
	SAINT SEIYA OVERTURE 1 DVD, with the fifth movie.
	THE HADES CHAPTER INFERNO & ELYSION 9 DVD, with 2 episodes each.
	SAINT SEIYA THE LOST CANVAS 4 DVD, with 2 episodes each. Series not finished.

FRANCE
In France, there were only the first 23 episoded and the movies. Every dvd has a computer elaborated cover, characters' identity cards, some soundtracks and publicity. They are by Mangas Power.
After a long pause of several months, Mangas Power has released dvds from beginning again, with different covers and specials. I like the 3d animations about temples.
Dvds are zone 2.

From the end of 2003, there are dvds also in USA, too, with the title of  Knights of Zodiac. The series is at the beginning and is still in Sanctuary. Every dvd has 5 episodes, some specials, Japanese or English audio. Video quality is the same sa Japanes one. They are made by ADV Films.
Unluckly, dvds are zone 1, so they can't be read in Europe. However, they can be read by modifed Playstation 2 or computer DVD player.

KNIGHTS OF ZODIAC SANCTUARY 12 DVD, with the first part of Sanctuary

ITALY
* Finally, from 20th december 2004, Yamato is publishing 20 dvds about the tv series, without cuttings, with subtitles reporting original translations, the previews of the next episode dubled in Italian by Ivo de Palma (Seiya's voice), Italian and Japanes language, excellent quality. The 20th dvd is going to have only specials.
* Yamato has also bought the copyrights for the movies and it'is publishing them since October 2006, in a new box. The image quality is excellent, the audio in in Japanese and Italian, classical version and redubbed version with dialogs more similar to the original ones!
Dvds are zone 2.

All the VCDs, of Asiatic production, are in Japanese, with Chinese subtitles and every VCD has three episodes (or it lasts 60 minutes of film). VCDs can be read in every cd player.
In this subsection there are the screen shoots of the opening - ending songs, of the eyecatches (short sequences befor and after the publicity), of the titles (which haven't the same background as in Italy), the VCDs covers and the censures.

Laser discs are similar to vinils and they need a specific player (linked to television). Years ago, Japan was used to produce various laser discs, but now they are not used any more, because they are expensive and only few people have the player.
